The Orc Wars
The Orc Wars was a 15 year long series of battles that were fought between hundreds of orc tribes and the remaining people of the Five Territories. Lead by the Orphans of Throne and allied with the dwarves, the orcs would eventually be defeated when the Orphans of Throne lead their armies down from the Khardur Mountains to reclaim the lands the orcs has conquered.
THE ORC WARS
1AD – 5 AD
The Orc Tribes of Malgrimm quickly took advantage of what remained of the people of Obadon. They pillaged their way across Malgrimm, sacking town after town until they all burned to the ground. They invaded and ravaged Del Maleth chopping down the elven tree cities and clearing out large portions of the forests, forcing the elves into hiding. They entered the abandoned City of Veil and, one by one, tore down Veil’s majestic towers, buildings, and crumbled their streets. They murdered, they sacked, they pillaged every inch of Veil, save a 100 mile long section against the Artoria River.Lucien Blueblade and a small, handful of elder warriors made a stand against the ravaging orc tribes there, hoping to give the Stepfathers of Throne enough time to form a pact with the dwarves of North and South Khardur. He succeeded in holding off the orc tribes for five years, plenty of time for the Stepfathers and Orphans of Throne to integrate themselves into dwarven society. Unfortunately, when the orcs finally broke through Blueblades defenses, Lucien Blueblade himself was slain. The largest castle in the New City of Veil is named Castle Blueblade, in honor of his sacrifice.
THE ORC WARS
5 AD – 17 AD
After defeating Lucien Blueblade at the Last Stand of Veil, the orc tribes set their sights on Throne and the Khardur Mountains. The orcs ran into the mountain ranges hell bent on conquering what was left of the people of Obadon. For twelve years they tried, and for twelve years, the combined efforts of dwarf and human, along with the utilizing of the mountains and valleys, prevented the orcs from complete domination. This was part of Baron Vandamere‘s plan. Seventeen years to a dwarf is a blink of an eye, but to humans, it was the right amount of time to heal, to train, to mature, and to strike back against the orcs. Which they did with seventeen years full of reasons to.
During their time within the mountains of North and South Khardur, the Stepfatherswould teach the Orphans the way of Throne, they would talk about the destiny of Throne, and the plan that Desmond Vandamere had for all of them. Each year that passed by, the Orphans gained a stronger understanding of who they were and what they were supposed to become. And even after the Stepfathers would eventually die of old age, they Orphans’ sense of pride and ambition continued to motivate them. There determination to rebuild a new Throne was so intense, they instilled a law within themselves: The Law of Five by Five.
The new leaders of the Orphans of Throne, Muriel Blueblade, daughter of Lucien Blueblade, and the twin daughters of Desmond Vandamere, Sophia and Sylvia Vandamere, having all trained since childhood to fight and to lead, took command of the people of Throne. No longer children, they lead the forces of Throne, along with their Khardur allies, down from the mountains and took back their homeland of theThrone Territory. After securing Throne, the Thronic forces and the Khardur forces entered the forests of Del Maleth and decimated the orcs there, as well. Then they rode into the broken streets and buildings of Veil and drove the orcs out. They rode into the hills of Malgrimm and contained the orcs within it’s slopes and passageways. And there they stayed, no longer the feared horde that nearly wiped away all of humanity, but a mere annoyance to their borders.
The combined forces of Throne, North Khardur, and South Khardur, took back Obadon from the orcs after seventeen years of being their victims.
