SOUTH KHARDUR

The Barons:

Baroness Laverna Tarsk of Darkfall City in the Charred Valley

Baron Burton Tarsk of Oldrend City in the Oldrend Valley

Laverna and Burton are brother and sister and the Valleys of South Khardur has been in their families for generations.

South Khardur is a lot like Big Sur. in fact, describe the shit out of this place
near exactly like how Kerouac describes Big Sur. I got an idea, how about trying to
name places in SK by using some of Kerouacs poetry. That’d be cool. Do it!
I’m digging this shit. The weather, the trees, the plants, the colors, the everything.

South Khardur also boasts some of the riches and widest range of types of wildlife in all of Throne. There are many ‘giant’ varieties of animals are found remote areas of South Khardur.

South Khardur’s wildlife is the most unique in all of Throne. Because of some of the remote and hidden valley in the South Khardur Mountains, certain animals have evolved over the centuries like they haven’t in other parts of Throne. Many giant animals roam the mountains as do dinosaurs.

old shit

There are two large valleys within the South Khardur Mountains: The Oldrend Valley and The Charred Valley.

Oldrend Valley is home to Oldrend City, a walled city that is central to several outlying farms and ranches. Lord Burton Tarsk and his company The Greywind Militant protect the Oldrend Valley. There are also three dwarven reservations and two mines, which The Greywind Militant oversees. Lord Burton Tarsk is a just ruler, stern but fair. He treats the dwarves fairly, according to the laws passed by the king. He, himself is not religious, but due to the isolated nature of Oldrend Valley, he has erected a large church connected to an even larger mosoluem dedicated to his family members.

The Charred Valley is the sight of a massive battle during the Dragon Wars between a blue dragon and a silver dragon. The silver dragon no longer believed in the plans of the dragons and turned his forces against his leader, the blue dragon. The battle between the dragons occurred in the Charred Valley, which was destroyed during the fight, eventually giving it’s name to the valley. When Throne took over South Khardur, they created two castles: Oldrend Castle, which was supposed to be the where people lived, and Darkwall Castle, which was supposed to be the military based, just in case the dwarves decided to rebel, or if the armies of underworld decided to wage war. Over the decades, neither happened. The dwarves succumbed to subservience, and the underworld never attacked at all. Darkwall eventually became a large, fortified, city of sin. It has an infamous reputation for prostitution, drugs, alcohol, and fighting. The baron that rules over Darkwall is a fat drunk named, Baroness Laverna Tarsk, the younger sister of Burton Tarsk. The only people who live in Darkwall are the prostitutes, the derelicts, and the dregs. Laverna Tarsk has a company that works for her called, The Mud Men, who kill at the drop of the hat and are the only reason there’s any sense of law in Darkwall. There are no settlements or farms near Darkwall, and they only survive because of the supplies from Oldrend.

The relationship between Oldrend and Darkwall is very much like the relationship between Burton Tarsk and Laverna Tarsk. Oldrend sends supplies and funds to Darkwall to make sure they are okay.
